Biochemistry is compulsory for all medical students who want to be professional medical doctors. It teaches body systems through structural methods with nutrients included in some lectures. Nutrients are required by all living things to function, this course explains how we are affected by what we ingest. Prior knowledge of micro and macronutrients facilitates a complete understanding of total human function.
Upon ingestion of food, biochemistry highlights the steps required to ensure absolute breakdown into what is needed. This part of medical studies is not concerned with food only, it equally involves how to tackle substances that are not needed in human systems. Xenobiotics are substances that are not naturally required by the body like drugs or poisons. These are substances humans get involved in daily, it is the duty of medical scholars to understand them to properly handle them.
Anatomy, Biochemistry, Genetics, Histology and Physiology are studied during pre-clinicals. Pre-clinicals are the first stages of medicine, this is the part of medical studies concerned with general knowledge on how this species works. After pre-clinicals are concluded, scholars leave classrooms to teach hospitals. Medicine’s second phase entails interaction with live patients and learning how to interact with them while learning how to use equipment.
Medical doctors deal more with practical actions, which is why medical tutees have to experience them.
